Our Reception class are taught by Mr Garrod and Mrs Hutt.

We believe in providing the children with a wealth of first-hand and sensory activities, which will enrich their experience of the world and enable them to be actively involved in their learning. Recognising that learning is interconnected, we plan cross-curricular topics, and within these we build on and introduce children to new experiences in ways that are meaningful to them. They further their understanding by playing, talking, observing, planning, questioning, experimenting and reflecting.

We plan for focused teaching and purposeful play, but also provide flexibility for child-initiated activities which build on the children’s natural curiosity and creativity. Through this we ensure that children fulfil their potential, both in the Literacy and Numeracy aspects of the curriculum, but also in all areas of the EYFS.

Please have a look at our timetable for the Summer term.
